Here are some of the main points of concern I found that young users faced:
With limited personal finance education in schools, and some households, children and adolescents do not have many opportunities to study and understand personal finance as they begin to live more independently.
Being financially conscious early on will help children and adolescents lead a better financially independent life and prepare for the future to come.
To build the information architecture and sitemap, I used the card sorting method to sort the information and features.
Savings
- Deposit money into a savings account classified by personal goals
- Deposit money into a bank savings account at interest rate
Transactions
- Pay, send money to another account (transfer notification will be sent to parents)
Tips about money
- Update news, financial knowledge quickly and simply through short stories.
On the homepage will include the following general information:
- Total balance in the account
- Amount transferred, paid within the day
- Saving progress
- Transaction history
- Financial tips, information
From the homepage, users can access other features such as:
- Transfers
- Saving
- Check spending
- Edit personal information
On the savings screen, users can see how their savings are allocated to goals by percentage.
- User can create 2 or more goals to deposit money into savings but not profitable. This is a feature that helps children manage and accumulate money.
- If the user chooses "Invest" mode, the user will be able to deposit a minimum amount into a bank savings account to enjoy interest.
Users can easily transfer money with the "Transfer" feature. There are two ways to make a transaction:
- Enter the recipient's bank account information
- Option to transfer money to people already saved in contacts (with previously saved bank accounts)
Users can use phone numbers to create accounts on the app and get authenticated via SMS. Users can set a password in the "Settings" section after the account creation is complete.
After successfully verifying the phone number, users need to create an HSBC bank account for transactions and savings. Users need to provide a front and back photo of their personal ID and scan their face. The eKYC technology will authenticate the identity to create a bank account.
Verification can be time consuming, or sometimes has errors. Therefore, the user is allowed to access the home page of the app without verifying. However, unverified users will not be able to trade, or deposit.
My main purpose is to help young people learn how to save and save more money, so I let the saving feature with the "Piggy Bank" symbol as the most important highlight on the Navigation Bar.
